Half-width katakana
hankaku-kanaon by defaultJapanese
Half-width katakana such as "アイウ", and half-width Japanese punctuation
Example
How to fix
Write it in full-width katakana. If it quotes a system's display as it is, put it in brackets.
Why it matters
Half-width katakana such as "アイウ" is left over from text pasted out of an old system. It is the same word as the full-width "アイウ" but a search treats it as a different one, and a screen reader and the character widths do not match. Half-width Japanese punctuation, brackets and the middle dot (。「」、・) are the same. Code, link text and a name quoted in brackets or quotation marks (a label copied from a screen) are not counted.
What it does not flag
Code, link text and a name quoted in brackets or quotation marks (a screen label such as 「カナ表示」) are not counted.
Turning it off or relaxing it
