How to fix

Join the sentences that make one point into one paragraph. If they are items, make them a list.

Why it matters

A paragraph groups the sentences that belong to one point. Setting every sentence apart as its own paragraph hides which sentences go together, and leaves the reader to work out how they relate. A one-sentence paragraph works as emphasis; a run of them does not. A heading, a list, a table or code between paragraphs starts the count again.

What it does not flag

One-sentence paragraphs up to the limit, paragraphs separated by a heading, a list, a table or code, lines joined by a single line break, and paragraphs that do not end with a sentence mark (a label such as Date:, a field, a cell of a table written as plain text), paragraphs that open with a mark such as ○, ・ or ※ (items marked by hand), and the entries of a reference list (paragraphs under a References heading, or opening with a label such as [7] or [RFC2119]) are not counted together. The legal and literature presets turn it off, since a clause, a definition, a line of dialogue or of verse stands alone by form.
