Misused Japanese idiom
idiom-misuseon by defaultJapanese
A Japanese idiom in a form dictionaries list as a mistake (的を得る)
Example
How to fix
Write the established form. 的を得た意見 becomes 的を射た意見.
Why it matters
A Japanese idiom with a word swapped or two idioms blended (的を得る for 的を射る). The meaning comes through, but the reader takes the writer for careless, and trusts the rest less.
What it does not flag
Only the forms on chaff's list are checked. Forms dictionaries disagree on are not listed. Literature does not run this rule, since dialogue may misuse an idiom on purpose.
